Confrontations

How do you deal with confrontations?

//Well, I guess that would depend on the kind of confrontation, now, wouldn't it?//

\\That seems to be the first thing many have mentioned in regards to this question...\\

//Well, you can't tell me you'd react the same way to being confronted by a Vorlon ship whether you were on foot or in BOB...//

\\True.\\

Confrontation has its uses. We do not like confrontation when it might result in our deaths, but few sentient beings do. At those times, we use whatever means we can to talk our way out of it, confuse those confronting us into inaction, or kill them.

From time to time, we confront others and offer them a choice. Those that accept our guidance become our allies, our associates, our friends. Those who do not... suffer other fates.

We did, on one occasion, confront another being from a race nearly as ancient as ours. He had moved against us, as his kind has been known to do, and could no longer be allowed to continue. We tore him apart.

It was most satisfying...

You know, I remember a most satisfying confrontation, too. In the Royal Palace. It left your associate, Mr. Morden, in a quite excited state, and he rather lost his head over it.

Oh, the poor servants who had to paint over the entire suite because of all the garbage lying around after the happy occasion recovered quite well, thank you.

Though if you really feel distressed on the account of those for whom things did not go so well, you can always contribute to the "Orphans of Selini" fund, yes?

(I would have christened it the "Survivors of Selini" fund, but there weren't any. Such a shame.)

It was most satisfying.

I can well understand that.

Wondering about myself and my
status
, are you then? Fair enough. Some of my acquaintances on
the Babylon Five station have told me of you. It's been...enlightening.
Perhaps you'd care for a demonstration sometime.

As you like, for now.It is only polite. Your hospitality to other telepaths is almost legendary; I certainly don't mean to forget it.
